Not huge on DC usually, except Batman. But that was pretty cool.

Has anyone else noticed that the quality of game cinematics is reaching, if not exceeding, some CGI movies?

I remember the hubbub about the Final Fantasy CGI (I found some early "headshots" about a year or two before the first movie trailer, leaked on some website, and was astounded at the quality back then). But today's game cinematics are featuring a LOT more detail, physics, and relatively realistic skins and body motions than they used to.

Compare the SWTOR trailers to movies like Final Fantasy (ignore the plot, just look at the graphics) or Beowulf. Or some of the early WARHammer cinematics.

The only thing I really don't like is how everyone is wearing the mechanical armor stuff that is so prevalent in games today (such as Luthor in this trailer).

Also, the link I posted above was before I went to the DC Universe website. They have an HD version of the trailer on the site that I think is a lot better quality than the link I posted.

I'm tempted to try the game out ... back in the day, I played the pen-n-paper DC Heroes (had a good-guy superhero named the Jokester, who threw rotten eggs and exploding bunny rabbits at the villains :D)
